    Hawaii Hotels – Ihilani Resort

Posted by admin on June 17th, 2010 and filed under hotels hawaii | 13 Comments »

Hawaii travel expert Veronica Hill of http://www.CaliforniaTravelExpert.com visits the JW Marriott Ihilani Resort & Spa on Oahu in this episode of “Hawaii Travel Tips.”

Secluded on the quiet coast of the Ko Olina Resort, next door to Paradise Cove Luau (considered the best luau on Oahu), the Ihilani hotel boasts oversized guest suites and bathrooms, complete with their own sitting areas.

This luxury Oahu hotel is also conveniently located next to Ko Olina Marina, which offers regular sunset cruises and snorkeling sails, and the Ko Olina Golf Club, one of the best golf courses in Hawaii.

Ko Olina beach, with its three lagoons and jogging trail, is a lovely spot to spend the day. Its gentle waters make it ideal for children, swimming and snorkeling. There are also several great Ko Olina restaurants — including Roy’s (our personal favorite).

My Sunday afteroon at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel Mai Tai Bar

Posted by admin on May 18th, 2010 and filed under hotels hawaii | 18 Comments »

Video at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel Feb 18, 2007

The nostalgic Pink Palace (Royal Hawaiian Hotel) combines both comfort and beauty with a vintage appeal and unbeatable beach front. You can relax by watching surfers, sailors, and sunbathers bask in the sun. The year-round summer with cool tropical breezes and breathtaking views of Diamond Head, phenomenal sunsets, fantastic blue skies and moonlight nights give Waikiki and the Mai Tai Bar a charm of its own.

Pink Mai Tai Recipe from the Mai Tai Bar at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel
This is a popular variation of the traditional Mai Tai recipe from the “Mai Tai” Bar at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel in Waikiki. The original Mai Tai was created by Victor J. Bergeron in 1944 and brought to Hawaii in 1953 at the Royal Hawaiian, Moana and Surfrider Hotels.

    INGREDIENTS:
    1 oz. Dark Rum
    1 oz Light rum
    1 oz Orange Curacao
    3 oz Orange Juice
    1/2 oz Lime Juice
    Dash Orgeat
    Dash Simple Syrup
    Dash Grenadine

    PREPARATION:
Combine all of the ingredients in the order listed in a Highball style glass over shaved ice. Stir with a swizzle stick. Garnish with a slice of pineapple and a cherry.
