  • What is the best vacation spot in Hawaii for someone who is only mildly fond of beaches?

Posted by admin on March 15th, 2010 and filed under vacation hawaii | 2 Comments »

I am not anti-beach, but beach activity alone does not make a vacation for me. What are your favorite areas of Hawaii other than the beach? I would be up for urban pursuits, wildlife viewing, or anything unique and fun.

I would say either Oahu or the Big Island. Actually, there are lots of non-beach things to do on any of the islands, but Maui & Kauai are more beach oriented.

On the Big Island there is the Volcano National Park – lots to do & see there. There are some nice waterfalls just outside of Hilo & there is the Waipio Valley.

Oahu has tons of stuff to do. We have a decent zoo,an aquarium, lots of historical places like Iolani Palace & Pearl Harbor, several museums (art, natural history, missionary period), a symphony orchestra, art on the fence (local artists display their work for sale outside the zoo on the weekends), & a small but interesting Chinatown.

All of the islands have good hiking, Maui & Kauai have zip-lining. If you come between December & March, a whale watching cruise is a must. Every island has beautiful sightseeing, like the road to Hana on Maui or the Waimea Canyon on Kauai.

Have a great vacation & don’t forget your sunscreen!

What month is the best month to have vacation in HAWAII? MEXICO?

Posted by admin on March 13th, 2010 and filed under vacation hawaii | 3 Comments »

I have 1 week free hotel accommocation anywhere in and outside of USA which will expire next year. Pls advise which month to go to HAWAII, MEXICO, AUSTRALIA – These are my choices for now…I’m having a hard time deciding. I just wanna make sure there’s no calamity in those areaa before I book my vacation….Help, pretty pls?

Well I say Hawaii in the off season is great. I’ve been twice once in November, and once in June. November is off season and the flights are less and it is less crowded. The weather in Hawaii is always the same year round which makes it a great place to go ANY time of year. Basically April to September is peak season along with Christmas time.

Help locating a inexpensive (up to a 7 days) Hawaii vacation?

Posted by admin on March 11th, 2010 and filed under vacation hawaii | 6 Comments »

I’m looking for the cheapest possible flight + Hotel from Denver, to Hawaii any island, for 2 seniors during December 14th – 21st, 4 to 7 days. A once in a life time vacation as it my be our last together.
Any help finding such would be appreciated, I have searched the web for the past few weeks not finding an affordable price.

I think try a package the rates are low and don’t go around vacation time and high seasons and chirstmas and new year.

Booked a family vacation to Hawaii, then realized the TV in our room is tiny and from the 19th century?

Posted by admin on March 9th, 2010 and filed under vacation hawaii | 3 Comments »

Do I really need a TV on a vacation to Hawaii?
I am well aware that TVs are not from the 19th century. It was an exaggeration to prove my point.

Some people love to just relax in their hotel room, but there is natural beauty everywhere you look. Go outside! Or Costco has large flat screens pretty cheap and then you could ship it home ;-)

Good deals on a vacation to Hawaii ?

Posted by admin on March 7th, 2010 and filed under vacation hawaii | 2 Comments »

My husband & I are planning for a vacation to Hawaii next year. Where are places online that I can get really good vacation deals to Hawaii? Where do you recommend to go? And when is the cheapest time to go?

    Thanks!

where in hawaii are you going? if your planning on going to hawaii and have an island in mind, i recommend you to purchase a book. i am going to oahu this year so i purchased a book called "oahu reveal". they have other islands too. it has many informative attractions, activities, and where to dine in. this book is really helpful. i also purchased my flight through hawaiian airlines.

me and my boyfriend are planning on going and we got tickets at about $800 roundtrip each from LAX to HNL. we puchased our tickets since last year because we wanted the best seats on the flight. i read in the book that sitting on the left side of the plane before landing, you will see a good look of all the islands from the sky. anyways, purchase the book its really helpful. try priceline or expedia. i think that you can get good deals on flight, car, and hotel.

you can always check out the travel agencies as well. they can help you. if your on a budget, they can help you finding deals at your price range and they are nice too about making your trip memorable. my bf and i are really excited for our trip this summer. i hope that your trip will be fun too. enjoy!

What to bring on a two-week vacation to Hawaii?

Posted by admin on March 5th, 2010 and filed under vacation hawaii | 5 Comments »

I’m going on a two-week vacation to Hawaii. What should I bring?
What should I bring BESIDES the obvious?

You can pretty much buy anything you forgot! They have TONS of stores, and its not THAT expensive.

I just got back 2 days ago… I brought waterproof cameras, and lots of sun dresses with flip flops- all i wore!

Even snorkel and fins are pretty cheap to rent, about $9, so you dont need those either…

Edit- OH YEA almost forgot, water shoes! You can get the $6 cheap ones from Walmart :)
