  • Is a passport necessary to travel to Hawaii?

Posted by admin on March 13th, 2010 and filed under hawaii travel | 8 Comments »

Do you need a passport to travel to Hawaii? Or can we just use our drivers licenses for verification? We’re from New Jersey.
I’m asking this question because my passport expired. And I’m wondering if I needed to renew my passport for the sake of going to Hawaii?
And also my spouse has immigration problems and he can’t leave the US right now. So we were wondering if we needed some kind of passport just to travel to Hawaii. Or can we just use our Driver’s Licenses???

    Thanks!

You don’t need a pasport to Hawaii because it is part of the US. When they check your ID, just give them your DL. Been there a few times and I am not a US citizen and they never ask for pasport.

Will I need a passport to travel to Hawaii in a couple months?

Posted by admin on March 11th, 2010 and filed under hawaii travel | 14 Comments »

With regards to the new passport laws, will I need a passport just to travel to Hawaii or when I return back home to California?
If I could I would choose dognhorsemom’s answer to be the best answer. I have to wait a few more hours.

This is not as silly a question as it might seem. In fact, there has been talk for years of a waiver that would allow Koreans to travel to Guam, Alaska and Hawaii without visas. The idea has always stalled due to the fact that then Americans would then have to produce passports to travel to and from those places, and the State Department believes that is unacceptable.

What is up with all of the questions concerning "Do I need a passport to travel to Hawaii"?

Posted by admin on March 9th, 2010 and filed under hawaii travel | 5 Comments »

Never a day goes by where someone asks the same question.
People, Hawaii is part of the United States. If you live in the United States, you only need a drivers license to travel to Hawaii!
If you don’t live in the United States, YES, you need your passport.
A passport is required if you are traveling to another country. Not traveling within the United States. LMAO

One possibility is that Hawaii, as New Mexico, has a population that is predominantly non-Anglo/Caucasian. Hawaii with an Asian-Pacific Islander majority and NM, with a Hispanic majority.

Some people still think of areas whose people are not Anglo/Caucasian as not part of the US. That’s why they ask whether you’ll need a passport to go to Hawaii or whether they’ll be able to reveive phone calls in New Mexico.

In 1978, American Airlines inaugurated it first direct flight from Dalas-Fort Worth to Honolulu. On the plane was a group of honor guests of Texas politicians and business leaders who were warmly greeted upon their arrival in Hawaii by local dignitaries. As the mayor of Honolulu said to the visitors:" Welcome to Hawaii. We are very delighted to have you here!", one of the Texas bigwhigs replied:" We’re very happy to be visiting your country too!"

Can i travel to hawaii in my first trimester?

Posted by admin on March 7th, 2010 and filed under hawaii travel | 4 Comments »

I kmow its like a 12hr flight, would that affect the baby? can i travel to hawaii in my first trimester.. its our 2nd wedding anniversary and we are going to hawaii. I wanna go while I still look good in my 2 piece bikini. or should we just wait till 2nd trimester or next year?

You can travel up until you are 36 weeks. You can fly as long as the airlines don’t have a problem. In the first trimester they won’t care. When you get to be up into about 20 weeks sometimes they require a note from your doctor, but in the first trimester, I wouldn’t worry about it. If you want to go, I would go in your first trimester as opposed to going in your second, especially somewhere like Hawaii, I would want to wear a bikini and I know I wouldn’t want to wear one now, and wouldn’t have worn one when I was starting to show. Should be fine to go, double check with your OB and see if they have an recommendations as far as the long flight goes, other than making sure you get up and walk around every so often. Congrats!

what documents do you need to travel to Hawaii or Alaska?

Posted by admin on March 5th, 2010 and filed under hawaii travel | 7 Comments »

If your are from San Salvador, you are legally here but have no permentant residense statuas because of some imgration law. as long as you stay in the USA you are here legally, You have a valid driver linecse, have lived here for 8 yrs. can you travel to hawaii or alaska . If you can what documents do you need.

From a 48-state US city to Alaska you need a "governement-issued photo ID" which for 90% of people is a valid US driver’s license. If you have a current driver’s license from any US state, that is all you need. (plus your ticket or confirmation code).

    Same for Hawaii.

You will go through a metal detector (for guns and knives) and your hand carried bags will go through an X-ray machine (for weapons). You can’t bring liquids through security. You can’t bring fresh fruit from Hawaii to the Mainland.

You only need a passport if you are leaving the USA or if you make a stop in Canada. You would only do that if your flight had a stop in Canada or if you drove up. But if your connection is in Chicago or Seattle or Portland or Minneapolis, you only need a driver’s license.

Contrary to what another poster said, you DO need a passport if you take the State Ferry up from Bellingham. Not if you get off in Juneau or Ketchikan, but if you’re going to Anchorage. Because you’ll get off in Haines or Skagway and have 800 miles to drive, partly in Canada, to get to Anchorage.

The airlines check your name against a "no fly" list. But that is for suspected terrorists. If your name isn’t something like "Mohammed Atta" or "Yusuf Islam", then you’re okay. They don’t have all 11 million illegal aliens nor all the people who have overstayed their visas on that list.

Can a non-citizen legal resident of the US travel to Puerto Rico or Hawaii without getting a Visa?

Posted by admin on March 3rd, 2010 and filed under hawaii travel | 9 Comments »

I have a green card, and I’m a permanent legal resident. What is the procedure to arrange travel to Hawaii or Puerto Rico and back and how long does it take to prepare the paperwork? Or is it like going to another state in the continental US?

yes since anyone that lives in puerto rico can decide whether or not they want to claim citizenship.

Sensual dancing and rich Music in Maui is central to the culture. In fact, not just in Maui but in all of Hawaii including Maui, music and dance are what the Hawaii culture is all about.
Go any where in Maui or Hawaii and yes, there are beautiful beaches but the guitar music in Maui or actually in Maui it’s called slack music is what the roots of the people in Maui and Hawaii celebrate. Dance, rituals, and of course volcanoes in Maui are great attractions, but the graceful dancing of Hawaiian women and girls, the music of Maui create a magic spell that makes the island sensual yet innocent and beautiful.
