Which island has the most beautiful nature and beaches for sunset? What is the best hotel that is located on the beach that have ocean and sunset views and that has outdoor fancy restaurant to watch the sunset? How much an average such vacation would cost for 1 person per day?

I like the Hilton Hawaian Village on Waikiki. It has outdoor restaraunts and is on the beach. You can watch the sunset from there. It’s alittle pricey, though. An average night there is around $250.00.
Another beautiful place is the Marriott on Mauai. It’s alos on the beach. I don’t know what the prices are there, becasue we were visiting other people.
It’s ahrd to give you an estimate of one day’s vacation, becasue there are htels with different prices ranging from around $100.00 / day on up. Food is slightly higher there, but there are plenty of fast food joints as well.

I would like to have a wedding on a private beach area in Hawaii or countries in Caribbean. I know that there are some luxury villas in Caribbean do have a private beach area but there is usually a 5-7 days accomodation required. It’s kind of expensive for me to stay in a villa for that long. My budget is about $3000-$5000 for a simple wedding ceremony and some photographs. Any suggestion for the locations or planning companies?

Well, it wasn’t a PRIVATE beach, but it was kind of a secluded AREA of the beach that they use almost exclusively for weddings…We went to Hawaii and used www.wedaloha.com (on Oahu)…They have several locations that they use frequently, but we got married on Waialae (Sp?) We had a blast, it was beautiful, and the wedding planners and photographers were AWESOME!!!!

*EDIT: And it was affordable…We spent about $600 on the whole ceremony INCLUDING photos…although we did have just myself and my groom with no guests, and went with a simpler wedding package. Depending on what you want and how many people you have, this is VERY doable on your budget.

I want to get married on a beach but I never really done any traveling to know what the prettiest beach is in the US. Hawaii is too expensive so anywhere besides that.

I have looked into having a beach wedding too! I have been to several beaches around the US and I really like Sanibel Island FL. Very small island, beautiful white sand beaches, and awesome views at sunset. There are several companies on Sanibel that do destination weddings and you can find them for all price ranges. There are also some really wonderful places to stay on Sanibel and some of the resorts offer wedding/honeymoon packages. The great thing about Sanibel is that the beaches are not crowded. You have to remember that most beaches are public so you are going to have people walking on the beach. Sanibel beaches are not crowded and I have seen many wedding done here. People here are very respectful of the ceremony, and will go out of their way to walk around your special event. The Sanibel Island visitor’s center is very helpful with weddings, just email them and they will assist you in finding out everything you need. You do have to get a marriage licenses and a permit for the beach. They are pretty inexpensive. Captiva is another small island that is right by Sanibel. It is way smaller than Sanibel but they also have some really pretty places to get married. I have been going to this area since I was a kid and I cannot explain to you how beautiful it is! I would think the best time to get married here is during sunset, you get some amazing pictures and the beaches are just breathtaking at this time! We like to go in Oct./Nov. They usually have really nice weather, not too hot not too cold. I hope this helps you congrats on your wedding!

We are going in August and staying on Waikiki. For those who have been, your feedback is much appreciated.

Me and my girlfriend are planning a trip to Hawaii. We like to travel backcountry, usually by bike, and sleeping on beaches or lonely camp sites. It’s safe to do this in Hawaii?

If you go the Big Island you can, but biking is not practical here. I have one page up for campers on my website, and there is a link in there to check out all the beaches it is legal to camp at. You are supposed to get permits also. There are other beaches you don’t need a permit, but they are getting less and less.

I just moved from Ewa Beach, HI (Oahu). I left in February when it was just starting to rain. I did a search to find pictures of the area, but I can’t find anything specifically for Ewa Beach. Does anyone know where I can get pictures or specific information for Ewa Beach? How bad is the raining and flooding in Ewa Beach?
Does anyone on Yahoo! Answers live in Hawaii? Oahu? Ewa Beach?? Anyone???
